Manheim Township, Penna. (January 12th, 2026) – The Manheim Township Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate winter tradition at its 6th Annual Groundhog Day Celebration, taking place on Monday, February 2. This free, family-friendly event begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Stauffer Mansion (1241 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA) and is open to all ages.

Guests can warm up with hot chocolate and light refreshments, get creative with arts and crafts, enjoy music, and snap photos with the beloved Manheim Township Recreation Groundhog mascot.

The highlight of the morning will be the much-anticipated Groundhog Day prognostication, delivered by Manheim Township’s own groundhog, MT Parker. Last year, MT Parker made headlines when he saw his shadow—predicting six more weeks of winter.

“Celebrate this 6th annual event at Stauffer Park and see for yourself what our very own groundhog, MT Parker will predict, Winter or Spring,” said Manheim Township Recreation Director, Matt Stopa.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as the official weather prediction will take place at sunrise (7:12 a.m.).
