LEGAL NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Manheim Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Manheim Township Municipal Building 1840 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, Pennsylvania the Board will consider for enactment proposed ORDINANCE 2025-20 the full title and text of which is as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MANHEIM, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA SETTING THE REAL ESTATE TAXES FOR FIRE SERVICE PURPOSES TO 1.079 MILLS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2026. BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as follows: SECTION 1. There is hereby imposed an annual tax to be used to provide fire services as provided for in section 1709(a)(2) of the First Class Township Code, 53 P.S. § 56709(a)(2), upon all real property within the Township subject to taxation in the amount of 1.0769 mills or $.01769 on each $100 of assessed valuation of taxable property. SECTION 2. Pursuant to section 1709(a)(2)(ii) of the First Class Township Code, the Board of Commissioners appropriates up to, but not exceeding, one (1) mill of the revenue generated from this fire services tax for the purpose of paying salaries, benefits and other compensation to fire personnel of the Township. For any calendar year, the Board of Commissioners may waive the appropriation limitation under this subparagraph by resolution. SECTION 3. Should any paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of said Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect, and the same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. SECTION 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon enactment and the tax rate adopted herein shall be effective as of January 1, 2026.
