[ARCHIVED] NFWF Grant Study and Stormwater Management Ordinance Update (spring, 2013 Recreation Brochure)

The Township continues to participate in the Lancaster County Municipal Stormwater Financing Initiative Study with the goal to improve stormwater and water quality conditions across Lancaster County, comply with the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) permit and create a dedicated, reliable funding source for infrastructure, operations, maintenance, and compliance needs. A project logo was created by the University of Maryland Environmental Finance Center. This logo conveys a message to the residents of the participating municipalities that their community is participating in an important study to address stormwater and water quality issues. A draft of the studies recommendations is scheduled to be presented in August of 2013.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) continues to review the Lancaster County Model Stormwater Management Ordinance. Manheim Township will have six months from the DEP approval date to incorporate any new regulations from the Model Ordinance into the Township's Stormwater Management Ordinance.

Public meetings will be scheduled in the coming months where public comment will be solicited for both the Lancaster County Municipal Stormwater Financing Initiative Study and the Stormwater Management Ordinance update.
