Beginning in March 2012, the Township will be adjusting its newsletter publication and distribution program. The Township will be going from the traditional "mass mail" approach to a more modern and multi-faceted distribution effort. In attempt to control cost and still provide current news and information to Township citizens, the Township will be promoting a new "Opt In" program that will allow all citizens to sign up or subscribe to receive a mailed copy of "TOWNSHIP TODAY." Only those subscribing will receive the mailed publication.
Also, to take advantage of the Township's website technologies and offer a "green" approach to obtaining the monthly publication, the distribution program will include a web based component. Specifically, the Township plans to take advantage of its website by offering citizens the opportunity to register for newsletter notices on its "NOTIFY ME" system. This system notifies each registrant via e-mail or cell phone with the newsletter is posted on website in digital form.
The goal of the Township's communication program is to increase public awareness, interest, understanding and participation in Township issues, programs and services and to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships through effective communication. While a little different than the traditional means of distribution, it is hoped that the new distribution program will allow "hard copy" and "computer savvy" readers and citizens to remain "tuned in" to pertinent information and happenings in Manheim Township.
