[ARCHIVED] MTPL’s Weekly “Did You Know?” Series

Did you know that Manheim Township Public Library had more than half a million checkouts of books, media items, board games and the lawn games collection in 2022? In addition to all the free resources available every day, the library hosted 530 free programs in 2022 with 10,300 community attendees. We remain committed to our mission of being a gathering place where curious minds are nurtured and transformed. As the busiest library in Lancaster County, we are asking for your support.

Each Friday in January, you will receive a new “Did You Know?” email detailing information about the library and sharing a way that you can help support MTPL in 2023. On the final Friday of the month, we will announce the dates of our upcoming fundraising events for the year….including our Annual Book Sale!

Week 2: In-Kind Contributions

Did you know that we accept your in-kind donations, and we added over 1,400 donated items to the collection in 2022? When you donate your gently loved books, media items and board games, we evaluate those items and decide if they are needed for the collection. Any items not added to the collection may be added to our Amazon Storefront, Book Spot, or Annual Book Sale inventory which further support the library by raising funds. In addition to the items mentioned above, we also appreciate donations of your puzzles, which are very popular at our Book Spot and Annual Book Sale! For more information and a complete list of items accepted please visit:

Another way to make an In-Kind Contribution to the library is by contributing to our 2nd Annual Pop-Up Silent Auction. Local artisans, entrepreneurs, small business owners and hobbyists are invited to donate an item, gift certificate or basket for our Silent Auction in June. All items are displayed for 2 weeks, and you are welcome to include brochures or business cards to display near your item. Please email Rennae to coordinate drop-off and discuss the partnership opportunity.

Thank you for your continued support of MTPL with your In-Kind Contributions!
