This past Monday at the Board of Commissioners’ meeting at the Manheim Township Public Library, Resolution 2022-24 was passed: addressing the mission of the Police Advisory Committee, recognizing their accomplishments, and directing the dissolution of the committee effective on January 10th, 2022.
The MT BOC determined through Resolution 2020-72 that the Police Advisory Committee be created and given the mission to review and discuss police practices within Manheim Township. After reviewing Manheim Township Police Department operations, policies, and practices, the Board of Commissioners believe that the Police Advisory Committee performed their function successfully and recognize the PAC’s invaluable work and contributions, and thank the committee/volunteers for their service to the Township.
PAC Chairman, Jack Paskoff - "During the work of the PAC, we learned quite a bit about the challenges facing our Manheim Township police, most especially in terms of the morale of the department, and the difficulties in hiring. I believe our committee came away with even more pride in the work of our Township police, to whom we express our gratitude. It was an honor to serve in this capacity, along with the other members of our Police Advisory Committee."
