[ARCHIVED] MT Board of Commissioners Expand 2022 Budget Workshops to Allow for Greater Public Participation

LANCASTER, Penna. (October 14th, 2021) – The Manheim Township Board of Commissioners has canceled their 2022 budget meeting on Thursday, November 4th at the Barn at Stoner Commons.  Instead, the one-time, all-day meeting will be expanded to three evening workshops, and will be held at the Manheim Township Public Library (595 Granite run Drive) on the following dates:

  • Monday, October 25th, after the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting (approximately 7:00 pm)
  • Thursday, October 28th, 5:30 pm
  • Thursday, November 4th, 5:30 pm

The workshops will be open to the public to attend in person, and available to attend via Zoom. The Zoom information and agenda will be posted on www.manheimtownship.org no less than 24 hours before each workshop.

The workshops will be held in the evening hours to accommodate the public.  Taxpayer and resident participation and input is strongly encouraged and welcome. Public comment will occur before and after each department’s presentation.

“The Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that we are continuing to provide more opportunities to our taxpayers and residents to be involved in the local government process,” said Thomas O’Brien, President of the Manheim Township Board of Commissioners. “We’re now making the budget review process more accessible with better meeting times, and online access with Zoom.”

The change from one individual budget workshop to three workshops allows for the Board of Commissioners to provide careful review, thought, and development of the 2022 budget in relation to each municipal department. The time allocated between each workshop will assure the Board of Commissioners have all their questions and concerns addressed in a timely fashion, before making decisions.
