Fire in the Glen

Band bio:

Fire in the Glen doesn't hold back at performances, and audiences can't seem to help clapping and singing along with the music.

This energetic band has been pleasing crowds since 1999. Now in its tenth incarnation, Fire in the Glen has a blend of the new and the familiar.

Band founder, fiddler and bodhranist Tom Knapp is joined onstage by Amanda Wells on guitar, percussion and vocals, and Rod Nevin on Highland bagpipes, Scottish smallpipes, pennywhistle, ukulele and vocals, for a lively, mug-thumping show!

The trio brings Irish, Scottish and Maritimes music to south-central Pennsylvania and beyond with a lively presentation of blistering fiddle tunes, skirling pipes and mug-thumping pub songs and the occasional airs and ballads.

Although drawing mostly on traditional music sources, the band includes some original songs such as the crowd-pleasing "Susquehanna Pirate," "From Amish to Irish," "Scot-Irish" and "I'd Stop Drinkin'"... making Fire in the Glen more fun than ever.
