At its meeting in January, the MT Public Library Board of Directors reviewed the year end statistics for MTPL and the data reveals as surge in users, card holders and other key activity indicators.
The year 2010 was an unusual year for the Township's library services. Services were temporarily closed and reduced in August to accommodate relocation process from the Oregon Pike location to the new library building at 595 Granite Run Drive. However, even with the disruption in hours and activities, key indicators reveal a growing interest in the Township's services and facilities as a place for obtaining books, magazines, videos, computer access, various meeting and programs in the Morgan Program Center and other special events. Key statistical changes from 2009 to 2010 include:
Library Visitors - 85,519 (up 35%)
Cardholder Residents - 15,866 (up 87%)
Borrowers - 42,234 (up 20%)
Program Attendees - 7,308 (up 149%)
Items Circulated - 168,920 (up 41%)
Collection Total - 35,345 (up 19%)
Hours of Operation - 2,242 (down 12%)
Staff Hours 13,873 (up 82%)
